This wedding, Oh this wedding!  I have been looking forward to helping with this wedding for months now. The reasons why?
1- The concept board at the beginning was beautiful
2- It was is Driggs, Idaho.  Meaning it would be an adventure.
3- It was not "blush"  Don't get me wrong I love blush weddings.  They are beautiful!  But the opportunity to change it up a bit made me happy!
4 - The Bride was awesome!  So relaxed and such a sweet girl.
5 - Which is the most important reason,  It was my sweet friend Andi's last event she was planning before she passed away in March.

It rained the entire time except for the 20 minutes during the ceremony.  It was such a chaotic setup.  We would get things up and then hurry to take down when the rain started.  When the ceremony was about to start we set the linens and flowers on the tables and just figured to go with it.  And... it rained the rest of the evening.  It really did turn out beautiful in spite of the weather.  When we were hurrying to get things setup I walked into the garage and at my feet was Andi's work bag.  It shocked me and I was a bit emotional.  I have not seen that bag for a few months now.  I miss her like crazy.  Not only do I miss working with her but most of all I miss her as my friend.  I think she would be happy with how this wedding turned out. It took a village to pull this off.  Off-Premise Catering , The Graceful Baker, Sego Floral

Back to work

For those who know me you know that for the last few months the event business has not been a priority in my life.  You never know when your life will be turned upside down and the priorities in your life are put in check.  That is what happened when my daughter was hit by a drunk driver while riding her bike in Tahiti back in December while serving a mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I had amazing support from my fellow industry friends.  The morning after we heard the news I had friends at my door bringing me flowers, a hug, a care package of things that we would need for our trip to Tahiti to bring Morgan home.  They would cry with me and offer to help in anyway.  Their are so many great people in our community.  I love you all!!! Now, my family is doing great.  Morgan is doing so well and her recovery is amazing.  She is waiting for the visa paperwork to be finished so she can return to finish her mission.  She is truly an example to everyone around her..whether she wants to be or not:)... of a hard working, dedicated person who never gives up.  It's been tough for her with difficult things to overcome and she did it and still does it everyday.  I love her more than can be said!  I haven't been working a lot during this time but this past weekend it was busy and I loved it!  I loved being back watching these creative ladies do their jobs.  Andi Saxton with Sego Floral and Vicki with Ella Bella Floral had beautiful weddings Saturday.  What talented people they are. I have some photos I took of Andi's event that I will post today and hopefully will have some of Vicki's to post soon.  So...back to work!!

Red Poppy Linens

So excited for this year and the weddings and events ahead! I have been working with Nikkol who heads the Bliss Magazine and Bliss wedding show here in Cache Valley. She also has been doing invitations and signage for weddings So I knew she was the one to help me come up with a name and logo for my business. She came by today with my logo and I LOVE IT!! It will debut tomorrow at the Northern Utah Bridal Show in the Davis Conference Center. The Name is Red Poppy Linens. I wanted something fun and went through many names but I loved Red Poppy right from the start! And really...I don't know anyone who doesn't love red poppies! Check back tomorrow for a look at the new logo! I am excited to meet the new brides tomorrow and am curious what the colors will be for the year. Last year plum was the color so we will see if another color will be taking its place or if it will go strong another summer. Vintage theamed weddings were very "in" last year but I am sensing a more modern approach will start to come about this year. I will let you know what I hear! Happy Weekend! Marcie--Owner of Red Poppy Linens-- I love it!
